STUVA - Research Association for Underground Transportation Facilities
The STUVA is a non-profit an internationally active research association. For more than 50 years STUVA has been conducting research and development in the field of public transport and has participated in numerous international research projects. In addition, STUVA permanently develops new products and processes in the field of transport infrastructures together with industrial partners. STUVA also deals with consulting and supervising activities.
The company is divided into the following three divisions:
- Tunnelling & Construction Technology,
- Transport & Environment,
- Fire Safety & Security
In the U-Threat project, STUVA contributes its expertise in the development of a methodology that serves to assess the vulnerability of subway stations. Furthermore, STUVA is developing measures to increase the structural and operational resilience. In its function as network coordinator, the STUVA is responsible for the preparation of a practical guide and the carrying out of extensive demonstration activities.
